Why BacklogDocs is Safe to Use

Encrypted Read-Only Access to Collaboration Tools

Document data is local to each browser

Documents are never stored. No IP (intellectual property) from the tools are retained by the System. The data from the tools are accessed read-only to create the formatted documents based on User selections. They are then downloaded to the local machine (if desired). In upcoming releases, users are given the ability to store metadata so that they can re-create the same formatted documents on demand. The actual artifact data from the collaboration tools are never stored.

Collaboration tool data is accessed as read only

Logins to tools only require read access (the demo data that we use are from our own instances of each tool, and the demo user account is only authorized for read access).

Credentials are completely shielded when connecting through BacklogDocs

When BacklogDocs connects to your tool, the credentials you supply are stored in session data and transmitted to the designated tool with SHA-2 & 2048-bit encryption. It cannot be intercepted, and when the browser closes, the session data is destroyed.

Data is not stored in session cookies unless specifically enabled by the User

No tool data is currently stored in cookies. In a future release, users will be able to optionally save document setups (metadata) in cookies so that they do not have to re-enter configuration information when returning to create the same document in a different session.

All data is destroyed after each user session

When a browser is closed, all data from the BacklogDocs session is destroyed.
